I LOVE RECEPTIONS! I mean love LOVE. Yes, they are long. Yes, they are exhausting. But I could cupid shuffle all night long. If possible, I would wobble until my legs gave out. "Blurred Lines" IS. MY. JAM! You would think eventually receptions would get old, but it never does for me. I'm right there with my couples crying through the toasts and laughing as the guests really cut loose on the dance floor. Unfortunately, I don't often get to show how awesome the receptions are. Usually my slideshows only get a handful of reception images. And they don't normally make the "sneak peek" or my blog. SO. Today I am going to celebrate the reception! *Insert confetti throw*
Photographer's really have to pay attention to try to capture all the amazing moments that are happening. At receptions, I often feel like someone put me inside one of those booths with 300 $1 bills and turned the fan on high. I run around like crazy snatching at every moment I see unfolding so I can document the incredible life happening around me. I mean, think about it. A reception is essentially the biggest party you will ever have with all of your loved ones in one place. Of course that's a formula for some serious "moment magic".
For example, some of the very first amazing moments you will share as husband and wife.
Or when your friends and family express their overflowing love for you.
How about when grandma decides to show us millennials how it's really done on the dance floor.
Some receptions include some very special serenading by awesome friends...
...or from the bride or groom.
And it doesn't matter who the couple is, or what their family is like, at some point, things get a little crazy. Even a little weird. But I LOVE it.
I love it so much, I can even get caught up in it.
But don't worry. No matter what, I never stop shooting.
