Self-Love vs Self-Care
Self-care and self-love are two terms that get thrown around quite a bit today. I love that we've turned our attention toward how we treat ourselves, but I think making the distinction between the two is important.
Do You Know?
Do you know that you are someone's favorite person? As in their favorite person ever. That your face is the one that makes them feel the most safe and secure. That your laugh is their favorite sound on the planet. That a hug from you is the one they long for most. That your voice is the one they long to hear for advice or comfort.
Love Is In the Air
Getting married is an amazing time in your life. It starts with the best part...falling in love. Is there any better feeling? Colors are more vibrant. You glow from the inside out. There is a legitimate feeling of floating through life. Laughter feels poised to leave your lips. You find someone you're attracted to. Someone you can both belly laugh and dream deeply with. Someone who finds the entire picture of you desirable. Someone who makes you feel so safe being 100% yourself. You share dates, long conversations, kisses, experiences, disagreements and delights.
100 Day Adventure: Pt 1
So, I did a pretty crazy thing last year. After going through a rough divorce, I promised myself that 2022 would be the best year of my life. And it was. One of the things I did was take a solo, 100 day trip around the world. I booked almost everything as I went and just worked off a list of desired countries. In this order: Colombia (a surprise booked through a travel company), Argentina, Chile, Peru, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Iceland, Spain, Portugal, Montenegro and Greece. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. The things I saw, people I met and experiences I had will be with me for my lifetime. I am changed forever. And I’ve written all about it. Here is my story.
Lingerie Tips & Tricks
Ok-let me start this post by saying that I love each and every one of you reading this. I truly believe you're all stunning, unique and beautiful. So do not read this as a "things Meagan thinks I need to work on" list. I am here to celebrate YOU. I already love your thighs/stomach/arms/belly button/pinky toe/booty/etc. That said, I also recognize that every woman who walks into my studio does so with her own insecurities.
A Boudoir Session for Valentine’s Day
Valentine's Day is right around the corner...y'all ready for the arrow-wielding, halo-wearing, child-bird? Bring on the reds, pinks and chocolate! For those of you considering doing a boudoir session for Valentine's Day, I thought I'd walk you through how so many of my clients think the shoot will go and how the sessions actually work.
The Other Side of Fear
Today marks the last shoot of the year. I’ve already talked about how 2022 was my favorite year I’ve ever lived, but as my client left today, I found myself reflecting on how lucky I am to do what I do. I literally get paid to help women connect with and celebrate their own unique beauty. I honestly feel like the luckiest woman on the face of the planet. As I reminisced about the past eight years in the studio, I was reminded that it wasn’t always so fun or easy.
The Gift of Boudoir
Many of my clients come to me because they are gifting their images to a significant other. I will always shout from the rooftops that they will get more out of it than the person they’re doing it for, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an absolutely amazing gift to give.
A Love Letter
This year I did something I've never done before. I loved myself well. Last year was the most difficult of my entire life. Going through a divorce really does wreck your soul. I had a moment, in the midst of it all, when I was having a particularly difficult day.
My Boudoir Session Experience
Sometimes you have to walk the walk...and I did! Back in April, I flew to DC to do my own boudoir session with the lovely Julie Socher. She. Is. Amazing. Warm, kind and just has the kind of energy that is contagious. I know most of my clients show up a bit nervous, but I wasn't nervous at all-I felt 100% excitement.
She wants to fly
Life is a journey. It’s full of moments of celebration and confetti as well as heart-wrenching grief. There are places to see, people to meet, things to create and every emotion under the sun to experience. During some seasons, you may stand steadily at the helm of your own ship, steering with confidence and choosing your own destiny.

A Client's Perspective: Her Boudoir Photography Experience
This is probably taboo and TMI and way too personal but I’ve decided I don’t care. I had boudoir photos taken and I can not recommend this experience enough.
What's Weird About Boudoir Photography?
"So, what do you do?"
"I'm a boudoir photographer."
My answer usually gets two responses.
COVID-19 Update for the Boudoir Studio
It's about time for a little Covid-19 update and what you can expect at your boudoir session. First of all, friends! We are opennnn! The Meagan O Studio started shooting clients again this month. I cannot TELL y'all how relieved my itchy fingers are!!! I haven't gone that long without picking up a camera since I opened the studio! I've never been so thankful to get to do what I do for a living because it is just SO FUN!!! That said, we are absolutely engaging in additional protocols to help keep our clients and staff safe.
Cheers To All The Mamas!!!
Hey there, mama! I see you! Waking up early, staying up late (especially during this quarantine!) Kissing boo boos, watching for the millionth time when your kid begs you to “WATCH ME, MOMMMM!” Picking up that same toy again. Reading books, playing games and folding laundry. Trying to make food that your toddler will actually eat. Potty training by just letting them go pantsless and crossing your fingers. Working towards making the days fun, creative and survivable. You. Work. HARD. And with the current state of things, it’s like you’re all also having to work double overtime.
